Privileged to provide care – Special thanks to the Sanchez Family
Nov 1, 2019 | St. Francis News
We want to thank the Sanchez family for the privilege of providing care for their mother. She touched our lives with her giving spirit, and we know what a special woman she was by the love and devotion of her children. Mrs. Sanchez’ family shared these words with us.
“Thank you for reaching out to us and helping us honor our mother's memory. She was a great woman and the embodiment of kindness. She always founds ways to help lessen the burden of those around her and help in whichever way she could. Now that she has passed to better a life, we feel there's no better way to honor her memory and cherish the principals and values she instilled in us than trying to help others and giving whenever possible.
“We were fortunate enough to get to spend a lot of time with her towards the end of her life, a lot of which was at St. Francis. The 7th floor became a second home to us, as we rallied around our mom through her difficult journey. My siblings and I never left her side. We rotated schedules and relieved each other to ensure there was always at least one of her children by her bedside.
“We are grateful for all the help and support St. Francis has shown us in attending and now honoring our mom. We were touched by the level of compassion we received from her care team and support staff.”
The family spent many hours sitting and sleeping in sofa chairs and recliners, and in appreciation for the care her St. Francis health care team provided, they are donating a recliner to the 7th floor to “make those families who are still watching over their loved ones more comfortable.”
To the Sanchez family, we give our sincere thanks for your kindness and generosity. We will continue to honor the life and love of your mother through the care we extend to our patients and through the comfort and support your gift will bring to future families.
